Statesville, North Carolina (July 24, 2021) – The Super Cup Stock Car Series is incredibly saddened to report the unexpected loss of a close member within the series family. Patrick Miller, the official series photographer since the 2015 season, passed away shortly after his 36th birthday due to a brief illness.
“It’s hard to find words that describe what Patrick meant to our series,” series director Joe Schmaling said. “He had the ability to be everywhere during our races, recording his perspective on the day’s events. Capturing the highs of winning to the one that got away, he always seemed to catch that moment in time. Photographs by Patrick Miller documented years of SCSCS one picture at a time.”
An outpouring of fond memories and condolences have additionally been shared throughout social media by peers, racers, team members as well as their friends and family members who knew him. Miller’s invaluable friendship with everyone will undoubtedly be missed very much by all.
The series asks to keep the family of Patrick Miller, including his partner in life and graphic designer for the SCSCS, Cheryl Fleming, in their thoughts at this difficult time.
