CJ Olivares, President

CJ joined MAVTV as its Interim President in October of 2022 and is a highly respected leader with a proven ability to successfully build and operate digital and linear media businesses, develop compelling programming, and nurture relevant brands. In this role, CJ is responsible for driving transformative growth for MAVTV as the only linear television network and media platform dedicated exclusively to the global culture of motorsports and powered by a passion for speed.

A graduate of UCLA with a degree in Political Science, CJ has previously served in executive roles including EVP of Digital at World Surf League, CEO of Street League Skateboarding, and the CEO of Broadband Interactive Group (aka Bluetorch).

CJ is best known for his role as the Founder and EVP/GM of Fox Entertainment Group’s FUEL TV, the youth culture and action sports television network he created in 2002. Between its launch in July of 2003 and 2011, CJ engineered FUEL TV’s growth and expansion into 32 million households domestically, 100 countries internationally, and 40% margins that generated more than $25 million in annual profit.

In 2013, CJ also led the purchase of the FUEL TV IP/library from FOX by Fluid Youth Culture, a Portugal-based media firm.

For the last decade, CJ has translated his past successes into a thriving consulting practice, providing strategic and operational guidance to a broad range of clients, specializing in organizational structure, brand development, marketing, and the creation and distribution of content across the spectrum of traditional and digital platforms.

Mark Carter, Vice President of Sales

After years of collaborating with MAVTV and its parent company Lucas Oil Products, Mark joined the MAVTV team as the Director of Sales and Marketing in January of 2022 and brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the business. His primary objectives are to lead topline growth of the sales and partnership efforts and infuse the MAVTV brand with new energy.

He is passionate about creating and maintaining business relationships that stand the test of time and brings with him a spirit of open and collaborative ideation and solutions that endear him to clients and colleagues alike.

Prior to MAVTV, Mark served on executive leadership teams on all sides of the sports media business, including senior roles at Simple Green, Saatchi & Saatchi, and NBC Sports. This diverse experience provided Mark with a 360 understanding of how to create and execute mutually beneficial partnerships that meet or exceed stakeholder expectations and KPI’s.

Growing up in Southern California, Mark developed a life-long passion for surfing that found him participating professionally for nearly a decade. He now lives in Indianapolis with his wife Amanda, where they are raising their three children and enjoy exploring the wonders of life in the Midwest.

Scott McLemore, Director of Programming and Production

Scott joined Lucas Oil Products and MAVTV in 2008 after 25 years of experience in the television industry.  He is an accomplished director and producer, and previously served as Executive Producer and Senior Staff Director for MAVTV.  Scott is responsible for thousands of hours of live events and other programming on networks including ABC, ESPN, ESPN2, NBC, NBC Sports Network, CBS, CBS Sports Network, USA Network, The Nashville Network (TNN), Turner South, Spike TV, and MAVTV.

Early in his career, Scott was instrumental in creating MotoWorld on USA Network – television’s first news magazine series dedicated to motorcycle sports and lifestyle.  He worked for Seals Communications Corporation (Sealsco) for over 16 years on MotoWorld,  as well as AMA Supercross Series, AMA Motocross Series, ASA Racing Series, Suzuki Great Outdoors, Walmart Great Outdoors, Major League Soccer Review, MotoWorld2, B Street Live, and numerous other programs.

Over his 40-year career, Scott’s passion for Supercross and Motocross racing on television is widely credited for the tremendous growth of both sports across the media landscape.  His contributions and knowledge behind the cameras along with his marketing expertise with major promoters, sponsors and advertisers are unparalleled in the industry.  In 2000, Scott supervised one of the Internet’s first-ever live sports audio streaming events with Sealsco’s production of the AMA Supercross Series for ESPN. Prior to joining Lucas Oil and MAVTV, Scott owned TimeBomb Entertainment and served as the company’s Chief Executive Officer. 

Ed Niemi, Senior Vice President Content Distribution & Strategic Partnerships

Ed joined MAVTV in 2013 as Vice President of Distribution to overseeing all aspects of the Content Distribution business. His efforts have seen substantial subscriber growth for the network by expanding MAVTV’s partnerships with over 200 video platforms.

Prior to MAVTV, Ed was Vice President of Affiliate Sales for SportsTime Ohio (STO). As part of the original executive team to launch the Cleveland Indians regional sports network, Ed was the lead on all contract negotiations with TV providers and was successful in getting full distribution for STO across the Cleveland Indians TV territory. Before STO, Ed started his career in the cable industry with Fox Cable Networks.

Marc Mazarin, Director of Marketing

Marc joined MAVTV in October of 2023 as Director of Marketing after over a decade of experience in film, television and streaming in Los Angeles. As an award-winning creative and strategy marketer, Marc has clinched accolades such as the Emmy, Clio, Webby, and Promax awards. He champions innovative and disruptive marketing philosophies with an entrepreneurial approach to identify new opportunities and drive sustained growth for the business.

Born and raised in France, Marc's journey led him to the United States and the Midwest, where he pursued his education. He earned an MBA in marketing and media convergence from IPAG: Paris Business School.

Before joining MAVTV, Marc held the position of Director of Marketing and Creative Strategy at HBO & HBO Max. There, he spearheaded 360-degree campaigns for high-profile properties, including the releases of Zack Snyder's Justice League, 38 At The Garden, and Friends: The Reunion. Throughout his career, Marc has held pivotal roles at emerging streaming services like Apple TV+, Vudu, and Crackle (Sony Pictures Television). He also contributed his expertise to TV networks such as Starz (Lionsgate), Pivot TV (Participant Media), and Esquire Network (NBC Universal). At the latter, Marc combined his passion for television and cars by successfully branding and launching shows like Esquire's Car Of The Year, Wrench Against The Machine, and Car Matchmakers.
